They sat oan the ledge, jist two wee 'doos'
peckin' away tae git rid oh' their blues.
Watchin' an' noddin' yin tae the ither
glad tae be freens' an' fleein' the gither.
Baith hopin' an' prayin' that somebudy wid
toss them some dinner but naebuddy did.
"Wit's wrang wi' us?" they wanted tae know
"Why dae they shoo us, d'they want us tae go?
wir just wee an' fluffy, wir really quiet nice.
Cor' look at that loaf wish they'd gie us a slice"
Baith fluffed up their feathers an' stuck ott thir' claws
opened their becks tae strengthen their jaws,
then flickin' their tails an' spreadin' their wings
they zoomed doon tae the van,
ye could fell the air zing,
then wan at wan side an' wan at the ither
they grabbed that broon loaf
pulled it hither an' thither
then up tae their ledge they two wee doos flew,
an' pecked till they'd feenished ne'er leavin'a clue.
